An Adventure to OTC + OSM Peak
THE UNTOLD LOVE STORY
ONG TENG CHEONG PEAK
[42°20' 33.5976"N 80°2' 56.4714"E] (4,743m)
On July 29, 2005, Singapore Pioneer Mountaineer David Lim, together with Wilfred Tok + Muhammad Rozani Maarof + Shani Tan, successfully summited an unmarked unclimbed Kazakhstan peak via the long Siemienova Glacier and Siemienova Pass [dubbed the route Wilfred’s Ridge (Russian 3A/French PD)].
They named it Ong Teng Cheong Peak; in honour of Singapore's 1st Elected President Ong Teng Cheong being Patron to the 1st Singapore Everest Expedition in 1998.
ONG SIEW MAY PEAK
[42°19'22.73"N 80°0'53.84"E] (4,451m)
On August 22, 2016, Singapore Pioneer Mountaineer Lim Kim Boon remade the journey up to summit Ong Teng Cheong Peak.
Together with Ong Tze Boon + Leow Kah Shin, the expedition team successfully summited (yet) another unmarked unclimbed peak, this time in the adjoining Kyrgyzstan mountains, across the Siemienova Glacier, directly facing Ong Teng Cheong Peak, 3.7km peak-to-peak apart, naming it Ong Siew May Peak.

EXPEDITION
Since 2017, we have conducted this double-summit expedition every year. The youngest at age 20 and the oldest at age 62, have successfully summited both.
This double-summit expedition is non-technical; nevertheless, safe roping-in in groups of 5 (or 6), at all times, is practiced. Some trekking experience(s) would be helpful, but assuredly, any/all needed basic skills will be taught and refreshed across the expedition days.
Each expedition is strictly limited to 16 participants. Arrangements are on a sharing-basis; i.e. 2 to a tent. Present at all times will be 1 Lead Guide + 2 Support Guides.
Once you have signed-up, we will have you (a) a 12-week physical training programme (May, June & July); (2) an equipment/gear checklist; and (3) guide you step-by-step on what to have readied and what to expect/prepare for.
